Our Top Tips for Styling A  Guest Room

I love welcoming guests into our home. We live in regional Western Australia so we often get visitors from the city and internationally stay with us. Often having guests stay in your home can give you anxiety but with a few tips mentioned below on how you can make your guest feel comfortable , just like in a hotel as well as make it a stress free experience for you, the host!

Does entertaining or having guests stay over stress you out?

Its that time of year when we start thinking about holidays coming,  preparing for our guests or changing up our styling for a fresh summer look in the bedroom.

I have put together some quick tips to make your guests feel at home these holidays while also relieving you of some last minute panic.

1. An inviting bed

Choose linen that can be interchanged easily for the different seasons. Layering will make your bed look super cosy and inviting. We love these bamboo sheets from Mulberry Threads for that extra classy look and feel.

2.Use an inexpensive bedside table or chair.

Side tables do not need to have drawers but only need to serve as a place to put your guests reading glasses, phone or book whilst they stay.
Flowers will always say 'You are welcome here' and add that extra special touch.
Fake posies will also work a treat.

3. A light

A light is not only used for practical reasons but also helps set the mood and another styling opportunity.  It’s a good idea to choose lighting that won’t take up too much space on the bedside table.

A clamp lamp with save on space and is an inexpensive alternative.

4.   Personal touches

Add some creature comforts to make them feel at home. Clean towels, scattered books and magazines, and fresh flowers are the finer details that can make all the difference.
Make some hanging space in your cupboard and have some empty drawers for your guests to feel like they are not living out of a suitcase.

Pick flowers from your garden.

I do hope this is helpful and your guests don't overstay their welcome when it looks this good!

Also big tip is always pre-agree how long your guests will stay. Tell them we are only available for these dates so they don't overstay their welcome.

Nothing worse than having guests overstay their welcome and all you want it your house back to your self!
