So what is it that distinguishes a forever rug from a throw away rug? And what is it you should be looking for when purchasing an ethical forever rug.
Forever rugs are handmade rugs made from sustainable, renewable, and biodegradable fibers like wool, cotton and jute and should use little to no chemicals during their production.
Throw away rugs are made from synthetic fibers these fibers come from raw materials such as petroleum-based chemicals or petrochemicals. Examples of synthetic fibers are polyester, rayon, spandex and acrylic fibers.

Synthetic fibers can take over 200 years to decompose vs 100% cotton which in the right compost can decompose in 10 days to 2 months and wool 3 to 4 months!
