Why should I purchase an ethical rug?

A forever rug

In this fast pace world of FOMO (fear of missing out) purchasing, buying ethical has become more and more important especially so in the world of rugs.

Choosing to shop slowly and make ethical consumer choices when buying a rug for your home allows you to make considered forever purchases and not just something that goes out of fashion in a few years and gets send to landfill.

Throw away rugs are made from synthetic fibers these fibers come from raw materials such as petroleum-based chemicals or petrochemicals. Examples of synthetic fibers are polyester, rayon, spandex and acrylic fibers.

Did you know?

Synthetic fibers can take over 200 years to decompose vs 100% cotton which in the right compost can decompose in 10 days to 2 months and wool 3 to 4 months!
